Write-A-Check Campaign Update: Deadline is Friday!
We are excited to report that we have reached our $12,000 goal thanks to the generous giving of Mockingbird families!! Let’s don’t stop here! Remember there is more than $20,000 in funds need for this year. Please review your WAC packet for details.
Just a reminder that even if you aren’t able to give financially, your child can still win our individual Friday drawings and also the grade level recess/ popsicle party by simply turning in your blue cards!
Here is the current breakdown of the number of participants (just turning in blue cards) per grade level. Remember, even if you choose not to donate, you can still turn in your blue card. It’s not too late to participate! Turn in your cards today!
Remember that the highest earning classroom will get $500 to spend in their classroom this year. Mrs. Joni Taylor, Mrs. Thompson and Mrs. Boyles are our current highest earning classrooms. And it’s a close race! One week to go!
Last but not least, our top 5 earners will have the chance to throw a pie at their favorite teacher. It’s going to be a blast!
Just a friendly reminder that if you check the box for “donated online,” that you actually make sure you paid online. Here is the link to the toolkit where you can pay online. https://mockingbirdpto.membershiptoolkit.com/ (Be sure to login to donate online.)
Please feel free to look back at our goal list for these funds located in your packet for a detailed description of how your funds will be used for Mockingbird. We are BETTER TOGETHER!

MKB Food Drive for Metrocrest Services Through Nov. 15th
Mockingbird Elementary will be holding a food drive through November 15th to help support the programs of Metrocrest Services. This is an excellent chance to make a difference in the lives of many individuals, families, and senior adults from our community and surrounding area. Other than making a significant impact on our community, this helps children learn compassion and generosity. The Mockingbird Student Council is challenging each room to bring in 100 items. If we reach this goal, we will be able to donate at least 2,300 items to the Metrocrest Pantry.
6th Annual MKB Great Rakesgiving Nov. 16
On November 16th, all learners and staff from Mockingbird will participate in our fourth annual “Great Rakesgiving.” On the day of the “Great Rakesgiving,” all Mockingbird learners will go to homes in the neighborhood near our school to rake their leaves as a way of showing gratitude for all their support.
On the morning of November 16th, all learners will meet with their buddy class and go to their assigned locations to rake. We will bag the leaves and leave them for collection. We would like all learners to come dressed for the weather and ready to work on the 16th.
Mockingbird is providing the bags, but we could use your help. If you have any of the following items that you can send (labeled with their name) to school for your child to use on the 16th, it would be greatly appreciated…gardening gloves, a rake, small broom, and/or dust pan for scooping leaves.
REMINDER: No School November 19-23
