Mockingbird Mavs’ Dads Superhero Cape Day is Oct. 31st
Join us at drop off the morning of Wednesday, Oct. 31st, to show our children that all Dads are Superheroes!
Wear your cape. Don’t have a cape? Borrow one from your child. Still don’t have one? Use a beach towel, sheet, blanket, or table cloth as your cape. Yep, they all work.
We will fly/zoom/soar around drop off on Oct. 31. Applaud our kids as they are dropped off in the loop by bus, car, or superhero. Cheer on Mockingbird students as they start their day. Be a positive role model. Be a Mockingbird Superhero.

Character Day Parade is Wednesday October 31st at 8 a.m.
Don’t forget the Character Day Parade on Wednesday, October 31st. The parade will begin as soon as announcements are over and we get organized (around 8 a.m. or so). Your child will need to bring the book or story their character is based on and carry it in the parade. You are invited to join and watch the parade in the hallways, before everyone gathers in the gym where staff members will dramatize a few favorite works of literature for the student body. No scary characters or weapons, please!
Write A Check Campaign Begins Nov. 5
Did your child enjoy Nana Puddin’s program at MKB a couple of weeks ago? Did you know that our PTO used fundraising money from last year to fund this special program?

This campaign will run from Monday, November 5- Friday, November 16. Look for Write a Check Packets in your child’s folder next week!

Coppell ISD Education Foundation - Give For Grants
Did you know that more than $1,078,000 in classroom grants have been awarded to CISD schools and educators since the Coppell ISD Education Foundation began in 2000?
The Coppell ISD Education Foundation's 2018 annual Give for Grants Fundraising Campaign is underway now, running October 22nd through November 16th.
Only with contributions from our community’s citizens, families, and businesses can we continue to support innovation in education for all Coppell students! All donations $25 and above will receive a yard sign!
To cap off Red Ribbon Week, Coppell ISD is sharing an Emerging Alcohol + Drug Trends Video available at https://youtu.be/_4hnUQAN-bE to allow parents to learn more about emerging trends in substance abuse, including vaping. The video includes tips on how to talk with your child, available resources and where to turn for help. In Coppell ISD, we truly believe You Matter!
