CHS Homecoming Parade Sept. 26
MKB Families are encouraged to attend the Coppell High School Homecoming Parade at 6:30 p.m., Wednesday, Sept. 26, and show our support for our hometown Cowboys! Although Mockingbird will not have a float this year, attending this community event as a spectator is an opportunity to show our spirit (and maybe even get some candy.) The parade runs down Parkway Avenue and ends at the high school!
Pinwheels for Peace Sept. 28th!
Mockingbird our Pinwheels for Peace Day has been rescheduled for Friday, Sept. 28th, at 8 a.m.
MKB students have been creating Pinwheels in Art class. Students have also been learning about peace and respect during guidance lessons. Take a moment and share with your child what peace means to you. Listen to what peace means for them. Help them make connections to finding peace with themselves and contributing to the peace in their family, community, and world.
Please join us at 8 a.m. on the front lawn to create a visual public statement about peace! To create your own pinwheel or neighborhood display, feel free to use the template found at www.pinwheelsforpeace.com. You can also have your child create one for you at home. It is not necessary to have a pinwheel to participate. We look forward to seeing you! Everyone is welcome!

CISD Seeks Input for Upcoming Boundary Realignment
Coppell ISD is seeking input from its community on its upcoming Boundary Realignment. The CISD community is asked to visit https://goo.gl/wL68NA to share top priorities for the District’s upcoming Boundary Realignment process and provide any additional feedback that should be considered by the Board of Trustees.
CISD is undergoing Boundary Realignment for the first time in five years to accommodate growth in the southern area of the District and balance enrollment in all elementary and middle schools. The timing of Boundary Realignment to be in place for the 2019-20 school year aligns with the opening of the District’s 11th elementary school, which currently is under construction in Irving and will open in fall 2019. Background: While the City of Coppell is just over 14 square miles, Coppell ISD encompasses more than 23 square miles. Within CISD boundaries, 63 % percent of the district is comprised of the City of Coppell, 33 % percent the City of Irving, 3 % the City of Lewisville and 1 % the City of Dallas. Those who live within Coppell ISD boundaries, no matter the community, pay the same CISD tax rate. For more information on Boundary Realignment, visitwww.coppellisd.com/realignment.
