Grandparents & Special Friends Day Sept. 7: Don't Forget to RSVP
We look forward to welcoming you to Mockingbird Elementary for Grandparents and Special Friends Day on September 7th. Please join us for a chance to tour your grandchild’s or friend’s classroom followed by lunch.
Please use this form https://goo.gl/forms/uL5Thioatf2Rs9Rj2 to pre-register and RSVP by September 6th to avoid long lines at the office. Remember it is Coppell ISD policy that all visitors must be checked in and wear a badge. By filling this form out early, you can avoid the line at the office and quickly go to your child’s classroom. If your child's grandparent or special friend hasn't visited Mockingbird in the last year, please come by this week or allow time Sept. 7 to scan your id at the office. Parents, please be sure the Grandparents or Special Friends know your child’s teacher so they can be directed to the correct classroom.
Grandparents and Special Friends have different arrival times depending on the student’s grade. You will have a chance to visit the classroom, and then join students for lunch in the cafeteria.
For lunch, you can bring food, or purchase a meal from the cafeteria. On that day, the meal served will be mac and cheese or a yogurt combo.
Kinder guests, please arrive by 10 a.m. First Grade guests, please arrive by 10:35 a.m. Second Grade guests, please arrive by 11:10 a.m. Third Grade guests, please arrive by 11:40 a.m. Fourth Grade guests, please arrive by 12:10 p.m. Fifth Grade guests, please arrive by 12:40 p.m.
The times above indicate when guests will be able to visit classrooms. Please pre-check-in using https://goo.gl/forms/uL5Thioatf2Rs9Rj2 to avoid the time to check in at the office. Please ask the Grandparents and Special Friends to arrive early and keep in mind the limited parking around Mockingbird, and if they need to have their license scanned, so allow plenty of time to arrive.

Mockingbird Mavs’ Dads Annual Meeting Sept. 12 at 6 p.m.
It is time for the Mavs’ Dads annual kick-off meeting. All Mavs’ Dads are encouraged to attend. WE NEED YOUR HELP! Bring your ideas. Meet the Mockingbird Principal, Mrs. Flynn. All Fathers, Grandfathers, Uncles and male role models are welcome. If you have a child at Mockingbird, then you are part of Mavs’ Dads.
The best part is all you have to do is show up.
This is our only official planning meeting of the year. (We like to keep it simple). Mavs Dads formed several years ago to promote and encourage school participation from male role models. We continue that tradition and have three goals: 1. Have Fun 2. Connect with Mockingbird 3. Encourage our Children
Just a few ideas planned for 2018-2019: 1. Fall Movie Night under the Stars 2. Spring Movie Night and Camp Out 3. Mavs’ Dads Day (four throughout the year) 4. Mavs’ Dads Superhero Cape Day 5. Main Event Mavs’ Dads Day
Do you have ideas? Do you want to help? Do you just want to attend events? Any and all level of participation is encouraged.
Why join the CGA? The benefits are plenty, including, but not limited to, access to our newsletter, free admission to CGA speaker programs, early registration discounts and priority access to MOSAIC summer camp, early registration and/or discounts for school year enrichment opportunities.
